Why get involved with you guys? Well, the obvious reason is to make a tangible and direct impact on the lives of other people. We feel that this rally and event is one that is completely unique and special, as well as one of the most out of the ordinary and crazy ways to grab attention from people who have a few ddllars to spare and want to be entertained while being involved. We will be updating our blog daily (as much as humanly possible) at our Latest Update Blog
In addition to the obvious, there are alot of reasons why getting involved with us, as a donator or sponsor, will be more than worth your while:
Be a part of something awesome: We are travelling 1/3 of the Earth's landmass in a crappy car. The stories and pictures that will result, as well as potential mishaps will be entertaining. That's a promise. When we succeed, you'll be right there with us, hopefully rooting us on, and taking pride in finishing our trek.
We have no shame: To our more giving sponsors we'll be doing just about anything to earn the sponsorship from you. This includes singing childrens' songs (apparently) and taking photos and doing ridiculous, embarassing things in far away lands.
We have great partners: We're making a concerted effort to align only with partners whose products and services we currently use, or will use on our trip. We think that this choice is the right one, as it allows us to endorse and embrace things that we truly believe in during our trip.
Our Passion:The three of us have comitted half a year to prepare for this trip, thousands of dollars each, for personal cost and overhead, and are working daily to ensure our charity goals are not only met, but that we blow our fellow ralliers out of the water. This can only be accomplished with the help of like-minded individuals. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we want to make the most of it on every level.
Velocity after 2008: We plan on helping other teams do this next year, in different rallies if possible, to continue raising awareness and serious money for our charites.
School Collaboration: We're currently working with several schools to involve their students in educating themselves about our trip, the cultures and background of the countries we'll be travelling through. We hope to educate and entertain, while involving kids on our journey.
We're Flexible: Don't have a big marketing budget, great, no problem we'll work with services and goods and spreading the word. We aren't looking for cash handouts, or just a check thrown blindly over the wall. We're most interested in spreading the burden as thin as possible to involve more, and make the burden light for each of us.
